Andrés Contreras, the renowned former Chilean padel world championship player, has a clear goal in mind: to discover and develop new talents in U.S. padel and strengthen the country's presence in world championships. As part of his ambitious project, Contreras has designed a series of innovative programs at Pulse Padel Club, located in North Miami. These programs range from introductory seminars to the sport to advanced training sessions for experienced players.
Contreras, who began his padel career at the age of 14 and has represented Chile in multiple world championships (4) ( - Buenos Aires World Championship 1996 (junior) - Buenos Aires World Championship 1997 (junior) - Mar del Plata World Championship 1998 (first adult world championship at 16 years old, the only Chilean to achieve this so far) - Toulouse World Championship, France 2000 (player and captain of the women's team)
has channeled his vast experience and passion for the sport into building a strong padel community in the United States. His focus is not just on attracting new players to the sport but also on refining the skills of experienced padel players to help them reach their full potential.
For young players, Andrés has developed padel schools that aim to do more than just train future champions. "We want children to not only improve their physical health but also develop mental, social, and self-esteem skills that will be useful on and off the court," explains Contreras. These schools offer a holistic approach that promotes physical and emotional well-being, creating a positive and supportive environment for young players.
Additionally, Contreras has established seminars and advanced training sessions at Pulse Padel for players of all levels. The seminars are designed to introduce new players to the sport, teaching them the basics and strategy of the game. For experienced players, he offers specialized training sessions that focus on honing the techniques and tactics necessary to compete at the highest level. “We want to raise the level of padel in the United States, and to do that, we need to find new talent and refine the skills of established players,” Contreras emphasizes.
